Etched In Adventure

“At the end of the day it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished, it’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better, it’s about what you’ve given back.”

My Philadelphia Bucket List

October 12, 2019 by etchedinadventure

Why did I go to Philly? Well, quite simply the weather was absolutely beautiful, I’m a huge lover of the northeastern states of America such as New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey as well as fond of museums, and I’m always looking for a bargain. One of the main reasons why I am able to travel so often is because I am a hardcore minimalist and about as low maintenance as it gets. I stayed in a 12-bedroom mixed dorm […]

Exploring Washington, D.C.

June 21, 2019 by etchedinadventure

Why did I end up in Washington D.C.? Truthfully, why not? It was my birthday that week, I found a $130 round-trip plane ticket, had a few old friends living there who I didn’t mind visiting, and wanted to see what the difference was seeing DC on a field trip as an 8th grader as opposed to a soon to be twenty-eight year old man. What was I trying to find? Hidden gems. Every tour guide can tell you about […]

Exiting Japan: Tokyo

August 4, 2018 by etchedinadventure

Tokyo was my last stop for my Japan trip and I had some reservations about going. I was growing tired of big cities, debating an over-packed itinerary, and was worried about being overwhelmed by a city even bigger than my old home of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. So, I just stuck with my instincts: check out a neighborhood a day at a time, relax at night, and just ride the wave. It was also the first time I decided to […]

Countdown to the Big Easy

February 18, 2016 by etchedinadventure

Planning any trip is simple yet a task when trying to budget every dollar while still experiencing the city and culture. I always ask myself these three questions: 1. Where am I sleeping? 2. What am I bringing? 3. What am I seeing?   When scavenging for a place to stay I stick with hostels because they are almost always going to be the cheapest, being a male I have few concerns staying in as many as a 12-person mixed dorm, but traveling with a girlfriend, instead I have a myriad of concerns. […]

However, for local Floridians or others who have already been there and done that or travelers who are on a tight budget here is a perfect sidequest to Orlando’s theme parks! International Drive, by Sea World, hosts these three different attractions that can be bought at discount through their various websites. The wax museum Madame Tussauds, the light-up […]

The Budget Traveler in the U.S.

February 12, 2016 by etchedinadventure

The typical downfall of being a wanderluster is finding and managing your money on trips that are sporadic or semi-planned. No one wants to spend a fortune on a hotel that they are only sleeping at or choose a flight where if they had waited one day the price would have been half. Here are a few simple tips and things to think about when traveling. First, you need to ask yourself these simple questions and be honest. Am I going to eat […]
