My Guatemala Bucket List

November 20, 2019 by Shaun Li Stoffer

Why did I go to Guatemala? Because I wanted to find the beauty in the countries that most people would either fly over or stay in a luxury hotel on the beach or lake their entire stay. I wanted to meet locals, eat local, drink local, and see all the hidden gems Guatemala had to offer. I wanted to immerse myself in their culture and another way of living. In simpler terms, I wanted to become more cultured.     […]

My Philadelphia Bucket List

October 12, 2019 by Shaun Li Stoffer

Why did I go to Philly? Well, quite simply the weather was absolutely beautiful, I’m a huge lover of the northeastern states of America such as New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey as well as fond of museums, and I’m always looking for a bargain. One of the main reasons why I am able to travel so often is because I am a hardcore minimalist and about as low maintenance as it gets. I stayed in a 12-bedroom mixed dorm […]

My Jackson Hole Bucket List

September 8, 2019 by Shaun Li Stoffer

Why did I end up in Jackson Hole, Wyoming? I found a budget plane ticket with United, had a friend who lived there and offered me a place to stay and a car to drive, wanted to explore Grand Teton National Park and, most importantly, I just wanted to be in the wild.

My Siem Reap Bucket List

February 16, 2019 by Shaun Li Stoffer

1. Crocodile Farm: Went on a road trip with some friends from Siem Reap to Battambang, Cambodia. One of our stops was a crocodile farm where crocs are bred and raised for their meat and skin. Straightaway the owner showed us his baby crocs and offered to let us pick anyone of them up to hold. I didn’t hesitate but misunderstood him when he said, “they don’t bite if you hold them,” he meant to say, “they won’t bite if […]

A Portfolio of Poetry (2018)

January 7, 2019 by Shaun Li Stoffer

Battling the Demons It seems there are times more often than I’d like to admit, That I spend watching the ice melt, Into the caramel color, And the pile of ash and embers grow into a mound.   I think of my failed dreams in the cage, How a head kick and a right hand, Shattered my pedestal, That was already fragile.   I miss the restless nights in the gym Suffering in beautiful agony, As we sharpened our swords, […]

Finding There Again

September 29, 2018 by Shaun Li Stoffer

I’ve left on a journey, Yet again, I’m not sure where to, But I think I’ll find it Or it’ll find me.   I’m hoping to find a pair of long legs In my bed, A pair of four-legged fur balls I’ll call my kiddos, And a breathtaking view.   Either with white sand between my toes, Or the smell of pine, As I make my climb to the summit.   Money is nice, But my heart beats For the […]

Living Abroad in Taiwan

September 16, 2018 by Shaun Li Stoffer

Tainan: I came to Tainan, Taiwan to work at an international American high school. I had grown tried of living in Vietnam despite having a high quality of life but things like pollution, communism, and the treatment of people, the environment, and animals pushed me to leave and find a new adventure. Random Facts About Living in Taiwan: 1. Every receipt is a lottery ticket with 8 digits printed on the top. The lottery is every two months countrywide. 2. […]

Exiting Japan: Tokyo

August 4, 2018 by Shaun Li Stoffer

Tokyo was my last stop for my Japan trip and I had some reservations about going. I was growing tired of big cities, debating an over-packed itinerary, and was worried about being overwhelmed by a city even bigger than my old home of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. So, I just stuck with my instincts: check out a neighborhood a day at a time, relax at night, and just ride the wave. It was also the first time I decided to […]

I always wander wherever I go because I always stumble upon the best little gems like this little gallery/cafe where they had a set of hummingbird feeders hanging throughout the patio. I stopped and had a cappuccino and got to stand at point blank range with hummingbirds, finches, and more for over half an hour. They actually scared me more than anything because they zoom towards and around you like bullets and make a strong buzzing sound when they are in flight. At least two dozen tourists just passed by without taking a second glance during that time and I was blown away because this was one of the best things I've seen during my travels. . . . . . . . . #bucketlist #travelgram #lovetotravel #traveldairy #simplyadventure #exploretheworld #dametraveler #flashesofdelight #openmyworld #wheretofindme #mytinyatlas #beautifuldestinations #getaway #wanderlust #worldtravel #travelstoke #earthfocus #traveltherenext #worldnomads #thetraveltag #travelzoo #sharetravelpics #itravelbecause #traveladdicts #adventure #costarica #nature #centralamerica #monteverde #hummingbirds
