“At the end of the day it’s not about what you have or even what you’ve accomplished, it’s about who you’ve lifted up, who you’ve made better, it’s about what you’ve given back.”

My Vienna Bucket List

January 23, 2020 by Shaun Li Stoffer

Vienna is on numerous lists for best places to visit in the world, especially in Europe. Why? There’s a lot to do and something for everyone no matter if you’re a foodie, artsy, or a partier. In addition, it’s not nearly as expensive as countries in western or northern Europe and the city center is very walk-able whilst also having safe, affordable, and efficient public transportation. Food-wise I ate mostly at their amazing Naschmarkt and top ranked Christmas markets and […]

My Budapest Bucket List

January 22, 2020 by Shaun Li Stoffer

Philly: London: Budapest: Budapest has easily become one of my favorite cities in the world. Why? It’s exceptionally affordable, safe, and it’s located in central Europe which makes traveling to other European countries extremely convenient. What’s more is Budapest just has so much to see and do! For example, I went to an opera performance translated to “The Bat” at Erkel Theater because their main opera house was undergoing renovations. I sat nearly front row for a little more than […]

My Chicago Bucket List

August 29, 2019 by Shaun Li Stoffer

Why did I go to Chicago? Simple, the travel bug was biting again, I found $100 round-trip tickets (not including extra fees like carry-ons and choosing your own seats), and the girlfriend wanted to go after giving her a list of destinations to choose one from. Traveling is currently my biggest passion while she hadn’t done much herself and I wanted to share one of the things I love with her. I had recently grown tired of big cities, having […]

Seattle & The ER

July 18, 2019 by Shaun Li Stoffer

I went to Seattle for a family reunion which brought family members from all over the world such as Australia, Singapore, Florida, Texas, and more totaling to nearly two dozen people. Our last reunion had been in ’99 in Orlando, Florida when most of us were adolescents or younger. Stuffed in a giant AirBnB, I was a bit skeptical from the start because I didn’t see how we were all ever going to be on the same page coming from […]

My Siem Reap Bucket List

February 16, 2019 by Shaun Li Stoffer

1. Crocodile Farm: Went on a road trip with some friends from Siem Reap to Battambang, Cambodia. One of our stops was a crocodile farm where crocs are bred and raised for their meat and skin. Straightaway the owner showed us his baby crocs and offered to let us pick anyone of them up to hold. I didn’t hesitate but misunderstood him when he said, “they don’t bite if you hold them,” he meant to say, “they won’t bite if […]

Entering Japan: Osaka

July 8, 2018 by Shaun Li Stoffer

I left the school I worked at in Vietnam to start a new journey backpacking Japan, visiting my family in Singapore, and to live and teach in Taiwan. I didn’t dislike Vietnam but couldn’t get past some of the cons that made me not want to extend my stay past my fifteen months of living in Ho Chi Minh City. Some of the things I do and don’t miss about living in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam: The corruption: My […]
